The new Hero electric scooter sports fresh styling and seems to be an indigenous product
The news is finally out from the horse’s mouth and above is the new Hero electric scooter that the industry has been widely speculating about.
Chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, Pawan Munjal, took the opportunity to briefly showcase the electric scooter during the company’s 10th anniversary celebration livestream.
To be unveiled pretty soon, the brand-new Hero electric 2-wheeler looks fresh and unlike the brand’s scooters that are powered by an internal combustion engine.
No specifications about the electric vehicle (EV) were revealed by Pawan Munjal. However, it is clear that the scooter will get sleek body panels and a low-set headlight.
It also gets split seats, staggered alloy wheels, telescopic fork front suspension, a small tinted flyscreen and a high-set handlebar.
In case you are wondering if this is a rip-off of Gogoro’s existing EV, we can tell you that it is not, for it looks nothing like the Taiwanese firm’s electric scooters. It even has single-sided swingarm like the Bajaj Chetak.
However, since Hero has partnered with Gogoro for setting up a battery swapping network, it is likely that the new electric scooter from the top 2-wheeler maker will also feature swappable batteries, apart from supporting fast charging.
While officially revealing the new electric scooter, Hero is also expected to disclose the name it has chosen for its EV arm as well.
