Hero Confirms Launch Of New Karizma, ZMR, Pleasure, Xtreme In March

Hero MotoCorp unveiled 15 updated products in October last year and only a few of them have hit the market. The company is working on putting all of them on sale gradually. India’s largest 2-wheeler manufacturer has now confirmed it will launch the new Karizma R, ZMR, Pleasure and Xtreme in March 2014. These four products get quite a few updates to boost their appeal and we expect the automaker to do a soft launch of them. While these bikes are still Honda underneath, Hero has showcased a dozen products which it has developed on its own.

There are two version of the Hero Xtreme, one is the standard while the other is the Sports which has higher output (15.2 PS against 14.4 PS). The Xtreme gets quite a few aesthetic updates although most people haven’t liked the updated model’s styling. The 2014 Hero Xtreme gets an electronic immobiliser and a side stand switch with auto engine cut-off. The 2014 Hero Pleasure is also offered in two versions, one is standard while the other is a special edition. The new version of the scooter gets Hero’s new integrated braking system as standard along with a side stand indicator, mobile charging socket, lockable glove box and light under the seat.

The 2014 Hero Karizma too is available in two flavours, like it has been since 2009. One is the Karizma R which is a semi-faired bike while the other is the Karizma ZMR, a full faired motorcycle. Both use the same 223cc, single-cylinder engine but the ZMR gets fuel injection for improved breathing and higher output. The Karizma R churns out 19.2 BHP and 19.35 Nm while the Karizma ZMR belts out 20 BHP and 19.7 Nm. Both bikes get vast cosmetic changes which have been influenced from EBR’s superbikes but people aren’t impressed with the new styling.
