The engine of the upcoming adventure bikes from Hero MotoCorp displaces 421 cc, the sport bike has a 300 cc mill
Many portals speculated that the engine of the upcoming adventure and sport bikes from Hero MotorCorp could displace 300 cc. But, for some valid reasons, we thought the otherwise and claimed that the engine could instead displace 450 cc.
Now, sources have revealed the engines’ exact displacements. The adventure bikes have a 421 cc mill and the sport bike has a 300 cc unit. Coming to the adventure models, firstly, the bikes look huge and a 300 simply won’t do justice to the size.
Secondly, Hero already has a motorsport adventure machine with a 450 cc heart. Thirdly, with no big names like KTM or BMW to aide in engine development, Hero has to play the displacement game like Royal Enfield to bring about performance numbers.
All these are the primary reasons why Hero has gone ahead with a 421 cc mill. The sport bike, on the other hand, looks smaller and a 300 cc engine would be more than enough as it doesn’t look like a hardcore machine.
Contrary to earlier expectations, the adventure bikes will go on sale only during the second half of 2023 with the sport bike getting launched a just little earlier. Sources added Hero engineers are working on fixing multiple issues faced on the test mules currently.
It seems only after fixing all the issues, Hero will think about an unveil and subsequent launch. But, 1 can expect amazing performance numbers from these machines as sources said the 421 cc engine could churn out as high as 45 HP and 35 Nm.
When launched, the adventure bikes will directly compete with the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The sport bike will compete with Suzuki Gixxer SF and TVS Apache RR310 among others.
