Harley-Davidson Launches Fat Bob [Live]

Harley-Davidson India has launched another product from its Dyna family of motorcycles, the Fat Bob. The Fat Bob features a beefy handlebar, twin-headlights surrounded by chrome, 130 mm front tyre and 180 mm rear tyre bolted on 16-inch wheels, chrome covered adjustable rear shocks, self-cancelling indicators and twin front discs. ABS is offered as an standard. The Harley-Davidson Fat Bob is priced at Rs. 12.8 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is locally assembled in India via the CKD route.

The Harley-Davidson Fat Bob is powered by a 1585 cc, Twin Cam V-twin engine which the company claims has a light-weight piston design. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and uses Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI). The air-cooled motor produces 126 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM. Harley-Davidson doesn’t reveal the power figures of its motorcycles. The Fat Bob is designed to be muscular in every way and it does have immense street presence.

The Fat Bob has a 18.8-litre fuel tank, which is hand crafted. It uses a Tommy Gun exhaust which is quite vocal. The American motorcycle maker is taking the Indian market very seriously. The company has already set up an assembly plant in Balal, Haryana, where it locally assembles motorcycles for the Indian market. Harley-Davidson is also considering the set up of a manufacturing facility in the country, which will enable them to price their products very aggressively.
