On its fourth and last leg this year, the Great Ford Endeavour Drive was held at the state-of-the-art Automission Motorsport Dirt Track at Khalapur on 25th and 26th exclusively for the current and prospective owners of Ford Endeavour. Approximately 80 kms from both Mumbai and Pune, the participants got a ride of their life with Mr. Jaggat Nanjappa, a renowned personality in motorsports in India, at the wheels of dealer-sourced Endeavours ready to kick some dirt.
Every Endeavour owner got to experience this thrilling ride with his entire Family, everyone including wife and kids. A great way to spend your weekend, indeed. That is not all, special track was prepared for all the invitees to drive their own Endeavour to make full use of the 4×4 which they couldn’t do it in the tarmac-laced city roads (not considering the pot holes in Mumbai). Ford, really cares for its customers!
After watching the awe-struck expressions of every person stepping out from the car after the drive with Mr. Jagat and chilling out in a huge tent with all facilities and hospitality provided by Ford, it was our time to rock and roll. Mr. Jaggat with his vast experience amd sheer talent made the entire ride a cake-walk. The whole idea and motive behind this event is to give the REAL experience of the 4×4 capabilities of Endeavour to existing and future owners of this SUV. “When a customer comes to test ride an Endeavour in a showroom they do a test drive on city roads because of which they are not able to experience the true capabilities of this SUV. Even the people who already own this SUV do not get chance to drive on such a terrain.”
Previously this event was organised in Delhi in October 2011, Chandigarh in November 2011 and Bangalore in December 2011. So, was every Endeavour owner allowed? No. Participation in this event was by invitation only. Invitation was sent to customers who owned an Endeavour for more the 1.5 years and the shortlisting of prospective customers were done by the dealers. The invitation for the Khalapur event was only for customers from Mumbai & Pune. For the general public, the doors were closed. Making it an exclusive Ford Family event. One which should not be missed.
The Delhi event witnessed head count of around 350, more than 800 for the Chandigarh event, around 270 for the Bangalore event. The Bombay event was originally scheduled for December 2011, completing the target of 4 events through India in 3 months, was unfortunately delayed due to lack of space in the city. So are you an Endeavour owner and missed it for some reason? Well, Ford has plans to scale this event to even bigger heights next year with more excitement.
