With the 150-200cc category of motorcycles thriving worldwide, there has been a recent addition to this category, namely the GPX Demon GR200R from Thailand. GPX also plans on launching the motorcycle in Malaysia soon.
GPX is a Thailand-based manufacturer, famous for its offerings in the small motorcycle segment. It’s offering the GPX GR150R which is famous for looking similar to a Ducati Panigale 1199.
Unlike the GR150R, the GPX Demon GR200R definitely looks apart from all other motorcycles in this segment. Although, evidently, it borrows some styling elements from the Yamaha R1. We think the GR200R, like the name, has demon-like styling and will definitely pass off as a higher capacity motorcycle at first glance.
The 198cc engine produces roughly 16-19 HP and 17.2 Nm of torque which is plenty for a motorcycle of this caliber. The single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor has a 6-speed gearbox and is wrapped in a trellis frame, identical to that of the KTM RC 200.
The GPX Demon GR200R also sports a full LCD-TFT display which shows all necessary information and is easy to read, thanks to the colourful LED lighting used throughout. According to the images, the GR200R is available in 2 colours – red and black.
GPX has priced the GR200R at 76,500 Thai Baht which rounds up to roughly Rs. 1.87 lakh. If it were to hit it Indian shores at this price, it would compete with the KTM RC 200, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, etc. and we think it will give them a good run for their money considering the equipment on offer.
