GMC Hummer EV Teased, Unveil Likely In September
GM is producing an electric Hummer, but do not scoff at it before you take a look at the numbers.
The GMC Hummer EV has been teased by the manufacturer, revealing more details about the model that will likely be unveiled this September.
A latest video released by GM provides a short look at the development of what is called the supertruck and there are many cool elements that we can notice.
For example, the Hummer EV comes with a curvier shape rather than the earlier models that were slab sided. But expect it to get the rugged appearance that befits the Hummer badge.
We can also see that the EV will get a beefy front bumper with D-rings, a short bonnet, an upright windscreen, flat roof that is named “infinity roof” with modular sky panels that is made out of four sections that are removable.
The C-pillar is angled more than the A-pillar and also houses a rear spoiler. One cannot miss the small bed at the back and the pronounced fender flares that house big wheels wrapped with off-road tyres.
Other details that we know of until now is that the truck will get 1000 HP, 15,590 Nm of peak torque and it will be able to do the 0-100 km/hr run in 3 seconds. The GMC Hummer EV will feature modes named “adrenaline” and “crab”.
Battery pack is named “Ultium” battery with superfast charging capability.
Earlier, GM stated that the truck will get 800-volt batteries ranging from 50 to 200 kWh with 350 kW fast charging feature.
While the unveil will take place this September, production and assembly will begin at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant the same time next year.
