The much awaited 7-seat MPV from Chevrolet, the Enjoy, was caught testing in Bangalore by our eagle-eyed reader, Shrikanth Achar Bala. This new B-segment MPV from the American car maker is expected to be launched next month and road testing of the car on open roads is always a good sign. It is said that GM has already started production of the Chevrolet Enjoy at their manufacturing plant at Halol, Gujarat. The Enjoy MPV will go head on with the segment leader, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Mahindra Xylo.
The Chevrolet Enjoy MPV is pretty big in size and is expected to be very spacious and have comfortable seating for seven people with three rows of seats. It is expected to have better storage space than its main competition, the Ertiga, as well. But as far as the styling is concerned, it looks more like a van even though it has a pretty modern front end. The Enjoy is actually a rebadged GM-SAIC’s product for China, called the Wuling CN-100, just like the Sail hatchback and compact sedan.
The Chevrolet Enjoy MPV will be powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine producing 94.6 BHP of power as well as a diesel engine, the 1.3-litre Multijet, most certainly in the 75 BHP guise like the Sail twins. This MPV is very important from Chevrolet’s point of view in India as most of its other products are not performing up to expectations. The MPV segment is extremely popular in India and a new spacious, comfortable, feature-rich and well-priced product may just cut the mustard giving GM India much needed volumes.
