General Motors India is showcasing the swanky Colorado pickup truck at the expo to gather some eyeballs towards the huge vehicle based on the Chevrolet TrailBlazer.
The Chverolet Colorado is a full-size American pickup truck that competes with the likes of Ford F-150 pickup in its segment. The huge vehicle is based on the Chevrolet TrailBlazer that was launched in India recently after being showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. However, GM India doesn’t plan to launch the Colorado in our country since it is an unfeasible segment here.
The heavy duty Colorado looks intimidating with its gigantic dimensions having a huge profile up front consisting of a large dual-port Chevy grille, big headlamps and long hood. It is a five seater pickup truck with dual cab layout and a huge trunk at the back to carry heavy loads. The alloys look stylish and overall it looks like a modern pickup truck.
The interiors of the Chevrolet Colorado are finished in all-black theme having a neat and simple layout. The centre console features a big touch screen MyLink infotainment system that we have already seen on the TrailBlazer. The four-spoke steering wheel is good to look at and the quality levels are quite impressive. It is a spacious cabin for five adults.
Powering the Chevrolet Colorado are two engine options internationally. The 2.5-litre four-cylinder VVT petrol motor churns out 200 HP of power and 258 Nm of torque. There is a 3.6-litre DOHC V6 petrol unit as well that produces 305 HP and 364 Nm. Diesel power comes from the same engine seen on the TrailBlazer, 2.8-litre DURAMAX four-cylinder motor that produces 181 HP of power and 500 Nm of torque.
The heavy duty pickup is available globally with the options of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission along with an all-wheel drive layout that comes standard with automatic locking rear differential. The Chevrolet Colorado is here just to attract attention of the visitors and gather feedback for such premium pickup truck segment from the Indian market.
