After the Himalayan, Royal Enfield has now updated the Classic 500 with ABS, priced from Rs. 2.10 lakhs.
The Classic Signals 350 edition was the first Royal Enfield to get ABS in India. Following the special edition bike, the Himalayan got the option of ABS and now the Classic 500 ABS version has launched with a starting price of Rs. 2.10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The price will vary with colour options and currently the Classic 500 ABS is being offered with only two colours. Compared to the regular Classic 500, the ABS version is priced around Rs. 20,000/- premium.
Deliveries have commenced with the dual channel ABS equipped Classic 500 but apart from that there are no other changes in the bike, the mechanicals and cosmetics remain unchanged. The Stealth Black and Desert Storm colour options are being offered right now but eventually other colours will follow.
Powering the Classic 500 is a 499cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 27.2 BHP at 5250 RPM and 41.3 Nm at 4000 RPM, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield is about to introduce the 650 twins Intereceptor and Continental in India soon and before they launch the flagship models, they are freshening up their current lineup with ABS, which is eventually getting mandatory in India.
