The Pulsar is one of the most popular motorcycles in India and Bajaj Auto strives to keep the fascination going on. Recently a camouflaged Pulsar 200 was spotted with a full fairing. The upcoming Pulsar model uses the current Pulsar 200 NS platform, which will get a new design tone altogether. The test mule has been spotted close to production ready avatar, which is currently undergoing tests outside Kohlapur, on National Highway 4. The fairing will have a performance oriented sporty design with a muscular tank, split seats and chiseled body cowls.
The mean looking Bajaj Pulsar 200 will have a compact sportsbike stance, having clip-on handlebars, compact cockpit and comprehensively laid out instruments. In terms of tech-specs, the new Pulsar 200 will share technical elements with the 200 NS but in a retuned manner. The 200 NS features a 199.5cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine with maximum power of 23.5 PS and peak torque of 18.3 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Final drive will consist of an exposed drive chain and there will be a compact and sporty exhaust system.
The suspension setup will consist of standard telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at the rear. The new Pulsar will be sculpted on a steel perimeter frame and feature front and rear disc brakes for crisp stopping performance. Expect strong performance and rev-happy nature out of the new Pulsar. The new Pulsar 200 will take on the likes of Hero’s new Karizma offerings, Honda CBR250 and Yamaha YZF-R15. Bajaj is also preparing to launch the Pulsar 375 in the coming months for serious performance seeking enthusiasts. The new Pulsar 200 is expected to be launched in the next few weeks with a price of around Rs. 1.10 lakh.
