Ford India won’t introduce more powerful bi-turbo in current Endeavour.
With the BS6 transition, Ford made some changes to the engine lineup of the Endeavour. The 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel and 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engines were discontinued. These engines were not updated with BS6.
Ford introduced a new 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Panther single-turbo diesel engine with the Endeavour. It was launched ahead of the BS6 deadline. The single-turbo engine is good for 170 PS and 420 Nm.
The American carmaker was also expected to come with a more powerful bi-turbo engine with the SUV in India. It is offered in the international markets. The Ford Endeavour twin-turbo 2.0-litre diesel produces 213 HP and 500 Nm.
It would have been the perfect replacement for the 3.2-litre diesel powerhouse. However, Ford has ruled out the twin-turbo diesel for the current gen model. It will be coming though in the next generation Endeavour in India. The all-new model is expected to launch later in 2021.
The 2021 Endeavour spy shots have recently surfaced. It will get an all-new design. With and upright stance and boxy silhouette, the new Endeavour will be loaded with tech and look sizeable.
It comes with sleek headlights and huge grille. The interior too is completely new getting a new dashboard design, new steering wheel and all-digital instrument cluster.
Apart from the new Endeavour, Ford is preparing to launch a compact SUV being co-developed with Mahindra. They are also working on a C-SUV based on the next gen Mahindra XUV500 underpinnings.
