Ford Endeavour facelift officially unveiled, gets styling tweaks and new features.
Ford has finally taken the wraps off the Endeavour facelift (aka Everest in some international markets). The Toyota Fortuner rival will first go on sale in Australia and followed by other ASEAN regions. The SUV is expected to be launched in India in 2019.
The facelifted Endeavour gets subtle styling tweaks to its front fascia. There is an updated 3-slat grille, bumper and slightly tweaked headlamps. The updated Endeavour also gets larger 20-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the interior, the dashboard layout remains identical but there is an updated touchscreen infotainment system which gets SYNC3 interface. Ford is also expected to offer a dark ‘ebony’ dashboard with softer materials as optional. Besides, the SUV also gets autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
The Ford Endeavour facelift will come powered by a new 2.0-litre diesel engine which was introduced internationally on the Ranger pick-up truck, along with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. The oil-burner will be offered in two states of tune – 182 PS/420 Nm and 215 PS/500 Nm with twin-turbo. Some international markets will get this new powerplant but India will most likely continue with the same 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre diesel engines. Nonetheless, these diesel mills will be updated to pass through the BS-6 emission norms.
