This is the second time the Ford EcoSport is getting a facelift in its lifetime and it should be introduced in 2021 itself
Ford is working on providing a facelift to the 2021 EcoSport, yes another one, before its replacement gets introduced in a couple of years’ time.
Development mules of the EcoSport facelift have been spotted recently and going by the images, it looks like the American brand is only set to give the compact SUV a restyled front profile and new wheels through this exercise.
Upfront, the compact SUV features a similar radiator grille and headlights in comparison with the current model. But, the bumper has been completely revised.
There are a pair of inverted L-shaped DRLs located on the bumper and the fog lights are new too. Also, Ford has made sure that it has covered the front fenders and the bonnet of the test mule.
But, the image of the spied 2021 Ford EcoSport facelift is not clear enough to provide us with additional information. The car, however, gets new 5-spoke alloy wheels.
No changes seem to have been made to the compact SUV’s rear profile, while it is said its interior remains untouched as well.
Expect the car to also be unchanged mechanically, meaning it should continue to be offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine (122 PS and 149 Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel motor (100 PS and 215 Nm). Similarly, the gearbox options should stay the same too.
It is likely that Ford will launch this facelifted EcoSport sometime this year and hopefully, the asking price of the car should not be increased by a lot when that happens.
