Ford gets us a refreshed 2019 EcoSport line-up and a new Thunder Edition along with it.
Ford has launched the 2019 EcoSport with a few new updates and a new Thunder Edition along with it. The 2019 EcoSport price range now starts from Rs. 7.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) thanks to an increase in localisation. The Thunder Edition of the 2019 EcoSport is priced from Rs. 10.18 Lakhs and comes packed with a lot of new features.
The MY19 EcoSport has received some new changes to the interiors and will now sport beige upholstery. The exterior of the car receives minor tweaks such as a muscular grille that adds to the charisma and the robust look of the car.
The car will continue to come with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3 and supports smartphone connectivity. 2019 EcoSport also features automatic HID headlamps, daytime running lights, electrochromic mirror, rain sensing wipers, push-button start and tyre pressure monitoring system.
However, there are no mechanical changes done to the new EcoSport and it continues to sport the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine, the 1.5-litre three-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine churns out 123 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine gives out 100 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine produces 125 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmission along with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The 2019 EcoSport comes with a new Thunder Edition that is available with both 1.5-litre TiVCT Petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi Diesel engine options. The petrol variant is priced at Rs. 10.18 lakhs, while the diesel variant is priced at Rs. 10.68 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, India).
The Thunder Edition comes with cosmetic updates. Starting from the headlamps, they get new dark inserts and a new black treatment to the fog lamp bezels. The 17-inch alloys get a sporty makeover and the car gets an overall dark themed exterior outlook.
It comes with black-coloured front grille and rear-view mirrors along with a dual-tone bonnet and decals on the doors. This limited edition of the vehicle also features an electric sunroof and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. Also, the 2019 EcoSport is the only compact SUV in the segment to offer a sunroof on half of its variants.
