4379 units of Ford EcoSport recalled in India for inspecting the weld integrity of the front lower control arm.
Ford India has issued a recall for 4379 units of the EcoSport that were produced between May 2017 and June 2017, in order to inspect the weld integrity of the front lower control arm. The weld strength on some of the vehicles could be below Ford specifications, which in exceptional cases, may potentially affect the steering control.
The company is also writing to owners of 1018 EcoSport vehicles made between November and December 2017 for inspecting the cars for driver and front passenger seat recliner locks. The automaker also adds that these voluntary inspections are in line with their commitment to delivering world-class quality vehicles to its customers.
Just like other recalls, the repairs/replacement of the affected parts is likely to be undertaken free of cost by the automaker.
