Ford EcoSport 1.0 EcoBoost set to make a comeback with the Titanium S variant.
We were recently treated to the spy shots of the Ford EcoSport Titanium S, a sportier variant of the compact SUV with aggressive looks and more equipment. However, back then, we didn’t know what engines would power the EcoSport Titanium S but now, we do! Yes, Ford has decided to reintroduce the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine on the EcoSport. Excited? Well, this news is indeed a pleasant one for a number of EcoSport fans.
The EcoBoost-powered EcoSport will sit at the top of the range and will aim to offer a sportier driving experience. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost makes 125 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque and the same tuning is expected to continue with the current-selling EcoSport. In addition to the extra power, the EcoSport Titanium S will offer a stiffer suspension setup and will also come with additional features such as an electric sunroof, new 17-inch grey-finished alloy wheels, slightly tweaked instrument cluster with a larger 4.2-inch MID, tyre pressure monitoring system, black inserts for the grille, fog lamps and headlamps. A new Satin Orange paint will also be introduced on the Titanium S variant to match the orange inserts inside the cabin.
The 6-speed gearbox as seen in the previous spy images is likely to be offered with the EcoBoost engine. However, the American automaker is yet to confirm this.
Besides the Titanium S trim, Ford is also expected to launch the EcoSport Signature Edition grade in the coming weeks. The Signature Edition is based on the Titanium+ grade and will be available with 1.5-litre Dragon petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. It will get 17-inch diamond-cut alloys along with Electronic Stability Control and Hill Start Assist. Additionally, the car will also feature rear spoiler, black inserts for the grille, headlights and fog lights and also get an exclusive Anodised Blue paint scheme with color-coordinated interiors and ‘Signature’ badging. The all black interior will get contrast stitching in blue.
