Ford has introduced BS6 range of cars with price cut!
It is the BS6 transition period and all that we are witnessing is price rise across all the cars that are getting updated with BS6 compliant engines. However, Ford has introduced its range of BS6 updated lineup with a price cut!
Apart from the Figo hatchback, the Aspire and Freestyle have seen a price cut compared to the BS4 models. Big reason behind this is the fact that the American carmaker has revised the trims and deleted some equipment with this update.
The BS6 compliant Figo now comes with a starting price of Rs. 5.39 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). The Ford Freestyle BS6 starts from Rs. 5.89 lakhs while the Aspire starts from Rs. 5.99 lakhs.
Sync3 audio system has been discontinued and the cars get regular touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Some of the features like rear defogger and wiper, automatic climate control, reverse camera, the touchscreen infotainment system, fog lamps have been removed from some variants.
The range topping Titanium+ trims though get 6 airbags, touchscreen infotainment, embedded navigation, automatic headlamps, electrochromic mirror, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start, etc.
Ford’s in-car connectivity suite called FordPass will be offered as standard across all variants. It performs functions like locking or unlocking a vehicle, shows remaining fuel level, distance to empty, locating vehicle remotely via the FordPass app.
Existing Ford owners will also be able to use FordPass app to locate dealers, find directions, access service history, etc.
The output from both the 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol BS6 engines remain more or less the same. The diesel engine produces the same 100 PS power and 215 Nm of torque while petrol motor churns out 96 PS of power and 119 Nm of torque, which is slightly down from 120 Nm.
