Ford is now offering the Aspire Ambiente and Trend Plus with CNG.
Ford has launched CNG variants of the Aspire and they’re priced between Rs. 6.27-7.12 lakhs (ex-showrooom). The CNG variant is available in Ambiente and Trend Plus trims and a warranty of 2 years/1 lakh kms is being offered.
Ford hasn’t made any changes to the exteriors and interiors of the Aspire CNG and it shares its equipment with its petrol and diesel powered siblings. However, the CNG variants come with a front stabiliser bar which has been fitted to endure the extra weight of the CNG tank.
The Ford Aspire gets a sequential CNG kit which is mated to the usual 1.2-litre petrol engine. This engine churns out 96 PS and 120 Nm when run on petrol and it is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Ford Aspire CNG has a service interval of 1 year/10,000 kms and the CNG kit will have to be serviced every 2 years/20,000 kms. The CNG kits will be fitted at company dealerships. To free up some boot space, the vehicle comes with a ‘suspension type cylinder fitment’. The Aspire CNG also comes with dual front airbags as standard.
