Force One Base & ABS Variant Launch Soon, Viano In 2014

Force Motors is well known for its commercial segment offerings for a long time but recently, the manufacturer forayed into the passenger vehicle segment by introducing the Force One SUV in 2011. Force Motors had setup its passenger car dealerships for the Force One SUV and the Force Gurkha bare bones off-roader, unveiled earlier this year to take on the Mahindra Thar. The sales of Force Motors products in India has been quite underwhelming due to the high pricing, lack of brand value, low awareness and tough competition.

To make things interesting, Force Motors has planned a couple of launches for the coming months. The automaker is planning to launch the base variant of the Force One SUV next month, which we spotted testing recently. The base variant of the Force One will be coming with a competitive price tag and with toned down cosmetic changes and features. Instead of body colored bumpers, the base variant will have black bumpers and wing mirrors. The manufacturer has also deleted LED daytime running lights, roof rails, fog lamps and alloy wheels along with chrome treatment on the exteriors.

Currently, the Force One runs on a Daimler-Mercedes sourced 2.2-litre diesel engine but the base variant is expected to come with the 2.6-litre diesel from the Force Gurkha which produces 82 BHP of power. Following the launch of the base variant, Force Motors will introduce an ABS equipped Force One around September this year. For the MPV segment, Force Motors will be launching the re-badged Mercedes-Benz Viano in India next year. It is a full-sized 8-seater MPV, which will be built by Force Motors under license from Daimler.
