Force Motors has announced today that its new SUV will be called One. The Force One was not shown or displayed but the company did manage to tease the media by showing part of the vehicle (seen above), which shows us project headlamps, the new Force One logo and day time running lights. The company also unveiled the new logo for both the upcoming SUV and the passenger car division (pictured below). The Force One SUV is the first passenger vehicle offering from Force Motors and will be powered by a 2134cc, 4-cylinder, CRDi motor, which produces 140 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine has been sourced from Daimler, whereas the suspension was tuned by Lotus Engineering.
Force Motors will deploy a new dealership network for its passenger car division, which is separate from its commercial vehicle offering. The Force One will be launched in July and will be priced around the Rs. 10 lakh mark. It will have 75% local content. The company will also introduce a MPV by the end of the year, which will have 98% localization. In 2013, a premium SUV will be launched which will draw heavily from the experience of making and selling the Force One SUV. The Indian automaker plans to invest Rs. 1000 crore on its automotive business in the near future.
