Force Motors is hoping for a better future in the Indian market. The carmaker currently has two models in the passenger vehicle segment – Gurkha and Force One. They are planning to add new models to the lineup in the near future. Recently the manufacturer has launched new variants (EX and SX) of the Force One SUV to compete with the likes of the Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV500. They are now considering a premium SUV, which will be targeted at a higher segment that includes the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, SsangYong Rexton, etc.
The premium Force SUV is currently on the drawing board, which is expected to be revealed in production guise in a couple of years. Force Motors has recently invested Rs. 1000 crores for future development and the new project of the premium SUV falls under this investment. According to the automaker, the company plans to expand its presence in the Indian market with an entry in the new premium segment that will touch the price bracket of Rs. 18 lakhs. The vehicle will be retailed through the company’s new passenger vehicle network.
We can expect the upcoming premium SUV to have a different styling along with a long list of equipment. For the time being, Force Motors is expected to add the range topping LX 4×4 variant to the Force One in a month and in the near future we also expect the Pune based automaker to introduce two new MPVs based on the Mercedes Viano and Vito. Most of the technology found in Force Motors’ passenger vehicles is derived from Daimler, so there is a slight possibility that the upcoming premium SUV might be a last generation Mercedes SUV (ML or GL).
