Force Gurkha BS6 Revealed At The 2020 Auto Expo

Force has revealed the updated Gurkha which boasts of a BS6 compliant engine and meets the upcoming crash safety norms. The updated model also gets cosmetic changes and an exhaustively updated interior. Like before, the Gurkha will be an off-road-focused SUV and will be available only in a three-door specification.

The exterior sees changes to front bumpers and bonnet, possibly to meet the pedestrian impact norms. The headlights now get LEDs incorporated into them and a newer set of alloys. The taillights are also revised. The Gurkha also possesses utility and off-road elements like a load carrier and a snorkel. The orange paint showcased is also new.

The interiors get a major overhaul. It looks far fresher and much more contemporary than before. The new dashboard design gets a touch screen and rotary controls for the HVAC. The brown theme is also well-executed. The Gurkha can seat six people. You get four forward-facing seats and two jump seats at the rear. New upholstery and better seat design make the cabin more comfortable. The Gurkha also gets a driver-side airbag.

As with the previous car, the Gurkha continues to be powered by a 2.6-litre common-rail turbo diesel engine good for 90 BHP. The motor is compliant with the BS6 norms. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. For off-roading, you get coil spring suspension and front and rear diff lock. The Gurkha is based on a tough body-on-frame construction. More refined on-road manners may be expected from the updated model.
