The Toyota Innova is an extremely popular MPV in the Indian market and the first generation of the vehicle which was sold for more than 10 years will finally be laid to rest.
You read it first on MotorBeam. Toyota launched the Innova in India in 2005 and the MPV became an instant hit with the masses. It was offered at a good price back then and there were hardly any proper competitors for it. The Innova started selling like hot cakes and became a household name in a couple of years.
Toyota launched a significant facelift of the vehicle few years down the line and the Innova continued its winning streak in terms of sales. A lot of competing manufacturers launched their own MPVs but none of them could affect the Innova’s sales. The Japanese automaker kept launching updated versions of the MPV every few years down the line, along with increasing its price.
However, all good things must come to an end and thus the first generation Toyota Innova has also been pulled off from the market, with its production coming to an end. This is in line with the second generation Innova which is all geared up to hit our market. Toyota produces the Innova along with its other stable mates at its production facility in Karnataka.
The second generation Toyota Innova has been on the anvil since a long time and it made its global debut in 2015. It was also showcased at the recent 2016 Auto Expo where the vehicle was unveiled amidst a lot of buzz. Toyota will be launching the new Innova in the near future and even though it will be a bit pricier than the outgoing model, we expect it to be a big hit too.
