Fifth Generation Audi A4 Revealed Partially; Looks Sharper

Audi is currently developing the all new, fifth generation A4 which will be unveiled later this year. The vehicle gets sharp styling elements.

The new headlights and grille share their design with the TT

The current generation Audi A4 has been on sale since a very, very long time now. Rivals like Mercedes-Benz and BMW have come up with new generations of their A4 rivals in these years but Audi is still selling the same model. With competition moving far ahead and embracing new technologies, the German auto giant too is readying its next generation A4 and the vehicle has been caught without camouflage finally. While the entire vehicle isn’t visible in these pictures, we do get some insight into how the new sedan will be designed, much similar to newer models from Audi’s portfolio.

The very first thing that catches our attention is the new headlight unit on the next generation Audi A4. It is distinctly styled and comes with a very sharp crease and yes the design does look very sporty indeed. There is a projector in the unit plus LEDs for the DRLs and turn indicators. The second big change is the new hexagonal grille which too is way more sharper than the current one. It also looks quite similar to the one on the new TT and R8. While the side profile and rear aren’t visible, we can easily say that Audi will carry forward this sharp design philosophy in those areas too.

The interiors have a completely new design again. The dashboard looks classy and oozes of premium appeal. The two-tone colour scheme makes sure there is no monotony too. Again, the centre console has also been tweaked and the new gear knob looks quite nice, again much similar to the new generation Q7 SUV. The sedan will be offered with an array of petrol and diesel engines and it will fight it out with the Mercedes C-Class, BMW 3-Series and the upcoming Jaguar XE too. The current Audi A4 in India comes with 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines and a 1.8-litre TFSI petrol unit and it is priced between Rs. 32.11-57.82 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
