The Fiat Linea T-Jet is one of the favorite machines for petrol heads in India. Somehow Fiat couldn’t manage to churn out good volumes from the car through Tata dealerships. Fiat India recently confirmed that the manufacturer is planning to re-launch the Line T-Jet with a different package in order to enhance the car’s presence in the market and to boost up the sales significantly. The updated 2013 Linea T-Jet will be available in showrooms starting from 1st April.
The updates to the Linea T-Jet will include added features for convenience but the exteriors will remain unchanged. The petrol variant (regular 1.4-litre) doesn’t offer the top spec Emotion trim currently, so it is expected that Fiat will introduce the Emotion trim with the updated T-Jet version. The Linea T-Jet is known for its superb ride and handling characteristics, strong performance and handsome styling. We expect better servicing experience with the re-launched version.
The Fiat Linea T-Jet is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol motor producing a maximum power output of 114 PS at 5000 RPM with a peak torque figure of 207 Nm at 2200 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Currently, the Linea T-Jet comes with a price tag of Rs. 8,81,000/- (ex-showroom Delhi), we expect the pricing to change slightly with the updated version. Fiat will also introduce the Linea Classic later this year, which will be a re-positioned version of the vehicle, to make way for the updated Linea, which arrives on our shores next year.
