Fiat has officially confirmed that the 2014 Punto Evo will be launched in India on 5th August 2014. The hatchback now comes with updated exteriors, while the interiors have been carried over from the Linea facelift that was launched earlier this year. This is the first comprehensive facelift the hatchback has received since its launch in 2009, while the Evo suffix has been added to the nameplate taking a note from the international line-up. Evo is short for Evolution.
Changes on the 2014 Fiat Punto Evo comprise of the new Avventura headlights coupled with a redesigned front grille and bumper that sports new fog lamp enclosures. Keeping up with Indian tastes, Fiat has updated the front and rear fascia of the 2014 Punto Evo with loads and loads of chrome that extends to the fog lamp housing as well. You also get dual-tone beige and black interiors (all black on the Sport variant) and new diamond cut 15-inch alloy-wheels (16-inch on the Sport trim), lending a premium look to the hatchback.
On the inside, the dashboard is fresh and new and continues with the host of features including Bluetooth connectivity, multi-function steering mounted controls, voice command system, automatic door lock, electrically adjustable ORVMs, built-in speed sensitive audio unit with USB and AUX input and a lot more. In terms of safety, the 2014 Fiat Evo gets Fire Prevention Safety (FPS) standard on all models, while ABS and EBD is available on top variants only. The top end variants also feature dual front airbags and seats belts with pre-tensioners as standard.
Engine options on the Punto Evo will remain the same and include the 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines, while the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine is available in two states of tune with 75 PS powering the regular trims, while the 93 PS engine powers the Sport variant. Fiat is offering the Punto Evo in four variants which are Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Sport along with 7 colour options on the palette.
