At the 2014 Auto Expo, we were quite excited to see the Fiat stall and we did appreciate the products showcased but amongst the Fiat Avventura, Linea facelift and 500 Abarth, the Fiat Punto facelift was sorely missed. However, Fiat India is considering launching the Fiat Punto facelift by June, which is currently undergoing tests. MotorBeam reader, Harshad has snapped the upcoming and much awaited Fiat Punto facelift in Pune. The new model has been spotted testing partially camouflaged. Partially because there won’t be many exterior changes.
Expect the Fiat Punto facelift to get cosmetic changes at the front and rear, save for the side profile. The front changes should include a new headlamp cluster, revised grille and reworked bumper. Same will be the case for the rear, where you will see a new set of tail lamps, reworked tailgate and bumper. The Fiat Linea facelift has been launched in India and we saw some pronounced changes on the inside. Similarly, the Fiat Punto facelift will get an all-new dashboard and some spruced up interior trims.
The new dashboard on the Fiat Punto facelift will be carried over from the new Fiat Linea, which is quite attractive and convenient. The quality of the dashboard plastics is vastly improved and the layout is ergonomic and visually sound. Similar features will be carried out from the Linea but the mechanicals will remain intact. The engine options are 1.3-litre diesel (75 BHP and 90 BHP), 1.2-litre petrol (68 BHP) and 1.4-litre petrol (90 BHP). The Fiat Punto facelift will be launched in mid-2014 and you can expect a more desirable package than before.
