Fiat S.p.A and Chrysler Group both are renowned names in the automotive industry. Both the companies have now united as one and this has lead to the formation of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). The company aims at providing great products at the global level and it will be based in the Netherlands. Jonh Elkann, Chairman of Fiat was quoted saying that both the companies have a great history in the auto industry and now they want to secure a good place in the market which is getting very complex and competitive.
The idea to join the two companies first came out almost five years ago and both the companies have worked hard to come together and develop new strengths by burying their differences. All this has led to the development of a great foundation for a global automaker who has a rich experience. People who hold shares with Fiat S.p.A will now receive a share of FCA for each Fiat share they hold. Shares of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will be listed in the New York Stock Exchange with an additional listing in Mercato Telematico Azionario (MTA) in Milan.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles wanted to adopt a new corporate logo and hence the work was assigned to RobilantAssociati to create a new branding strategy for the company which includes name, logo, house style and corporate identity. The new logo is designed in such a way that it resembles important elements in the automotive industry. The ‘F’ which is inspired by a square shows concreteness and solidity, the ‘C’ which is inspired by a circle shows wheels and movement and the ‘A’ which is inspired by a triangle represents energy and evolution.
