Fiat Caffe Car-O-Bar has been opened in Bangalore recently and is a very unique place. It is a showroom which also hosts programmes such as stand-up comedy and retro nights.
In order to draw more attention towards the brand and its cars, Fiat had started a few Fiat Caffe’s in India during 2012 and 2013. These caffe’s were to provide a different experience to customers by offering official Fiat merchandise, Italian cuisine as well as test drive and information of various Fiat cars. All the caffe’s had a library as well which had books on Fiat’s history. All this provided an Italian ambiance to those who stepped in. Recently, Fiat Caffe in Bangalore was renovated and incorporates a different theme now.
In a first of its kind effort, Fiat guys have tried to make furniture out of various car parts. The DJ console sits in the front end of a Fiat Punto and looks ultra cool. The sofas have been incorporated into the front end of a Premier Padmini which adds to the retro look of the place. A Punto Evo cut into half sits next to the reception. Elements such as old Fiat advertisements, different alloy wheels and steering wheels adorn the walls of the outlet. In addition to all of this, the food menu of the place has been revamped and now features more Italian delicacies.
What makes the Fiat Caffe cool is the fact that in the night, it will host events such as stand-up comedy shows and retro nights. All these things will definitely increase the footfall at the showroom and will put Fiat in the limelight. Brand visibility is bound to increase over time and this will benefit the Italian automaker who is struggling to increase sales in India. Despite having some very good cars in its portfolio, it hasn’t been able to make a mark in the country. Funnily, quite a few of the highest selling cars in the country are powered by Fiat engines but the company isn’t able to generate enough interest for its own cars.
