Ferrari 12Clindri Launched In India, Priced From Rs. 8.5 Crores

The Ferrari 12Cilindri is the flagship supercar of the Maranello-based manufacturer. The 12Cilindri, Italian for 12 Cylinders referring to the engine, has been open for orders and official prices have been announced. The 12Cilindri starts at Rs. 8.5 Crore (ex-showroom) for the coupe and Rs. 9.15 Crore for the Spider (ex-showroom)

Engine & Design

The 12Cilindri is powered by a 6.5-litre Naturally Aspirated V12. It produces a staggering 830 HP and powers the rear wheels through an 8-speed transaxle Dual Clutch Transmission, delivering razor-fast shifts! It was surprising to see that Ferrari managed to stick with their 12 Cylinder engine and without the use of turbocharging increased the power as compared to its 812 Superfast.

Market Positioning

In terms of market competition, the 12Cilindri will compete with the Lamborghini Reveulto, and Aston Martin Vanquish, expected to launch next month. Ferrari will be offering their flagship supercar in coupe and spider variants from the start of production, unlike their regular cycle of launching the coupe first and the spider version later.

Standardized Options

Ferrari is an Italian exotic car brand known for making expensive cars and one of the factors the price adds up is the options. However, there will be a few options which will be standardized on the 12Cilindri sold in India. It doesn’t mean that these options won’t be charged as Ferrari has assured it will add optional extras price to the final price. These options are taken from studying previous customer preferences such as axle lifter, Scuderia shields, and painted brake callipers. The option for customisable interiors will also be given to future buyers which seems to be a good strategy.

Price Comparison

One of the most interesting aspects of the “Dodici Cilindri” is the price tag is lower than the Ferrari Purosangue. The Purosangue is supposed to be a practical alternative to their supercars but it will be priced at Rs. 10.5 Crore (ex-showroom) which will make it more expensive than the flagship supercar which would be sold in the country. This fact has a slight irony but if you want to save a bit of cash buying a brand new V12 Ferrari, look no further than the 12Cilindri.
