Compact SUV sales witnesses some drastic changes in February
As we expected, sales have taken a big hit in February. The BS6 transition has affected the volumes and on top of it the supply chain of parts has been slow in Feb due to the COVID-19 crisis in China.
The compact SUV segment has seen some reshuffling in positions. The biggest one is the switch between the Hyundai Venue and the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The latter was leading last month with 10,134 units but now the Brezza takes the 2nd position.
The Hyundai Venue has seen a spike in sales within a month. It has played a trump on the Maruti Vitara Brezza taking the top spot with 10,321 units in Feb while the Brezza scores low with 6866 units.
Honda discontinued the WR-V in February and hence there are no dispatches. The Japanese carmaker is preparing to introduce the facelifted version with BS6 compliant engines and new features.
The Mahindra XUV300 has taken the biggest YoY hit in February with 2431 units sold. The Ford EcoSport has seen positive growth compared to last year with 3713 units sold.
