Hero Splendor is back to its 2nd position overtaking the HF Deluxe.
In the February 2020 two-wheeler sales, there are only 5 two-wheelers out of 25 that have seen YoY growth, rest all the figures are in negative. Imagine the situation of March sales followed by April due to this lockdown.
Well, as for Feb 2020, the Honda Activa as usual takes the top spot with 2,22,961 units sold and the scooter has seen a 9 percent YoY growth.
The second spot goes back to the Hero Splendor with 1,84,502 units trumping the Hero HF Deluxe. The latter overtook Splendor in January 2020 sales. Well, both of them have seen YoY -24% and -5% negative growth.
The Yamaha Fascino has witnessed a huge jump in sales compared to last year with 72 percent of growth with 31,440 units in February. The scooter seems to be getting quite popular over the last few years.
The TVS NTorq has also grown by 39 percent with 22,804 units while the TVS Jupiter has seen negative figures of 35 percent this year.
It is the TVS Radeon which has fallen down the most with 53 percent negative figures selling 9314 units in Feb 2020.
Going forward with the BS6 transition and increased pricing, the two-wheeler industry has a tough time ahead. That, along with the long lockdown period and unsold BS4 inventory will hit the industry hard.
