Tata Punch facelift expected to hit the showrooms by the festive season
Tata Punch facelift has been spotted testing heavily camouflaged for the first time. The test mule has been spotted by MotorBeamer Pankaj Ayachit. The new model is expected to get some exterior tweaks along with revised interiors and more features on offer.
In terms of design, the front profile seems to get some drastic changes. It looks sharper than the current version on sale. It is likely to borrow some exterior elements from the EV version that was launched recently. Some of the changes will include new grille design, new headlights, revised DRLs, updated front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheel design, revised tail lights, etc. The tailgate might also get some changes to make it look fresh.
In these spy shots you can notice the new steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, which is the recent addition across almost all Tata cars, it is even offered in the Punch.ev. You can expect some more features trickling down from the EV version like the 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360 degree parking camera, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, wireless phone charger, mood lighting, air purifier, etc.
The Tata Punch facelift is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 85 BHP and 113 Nm torque, mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Currently, the Tata Punch is offered with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. However, the facelifted version will get all four disc brakes as you can notice the change in these spy images. This will be a good step up in terms of safety. Additionally, it is expected to come with 6 airbags, ESP and ISOFIX as standard across all variants.
Tata Motors is expected to introduce the updated Punch by the end of this year or during the festive season. It competes directly with the Hyundai Exter. What are your thoughts on the updated Punch? Let us know in the comments section below.
