Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 Spotted India

Royal Enfield Bear 650 is based on Interceptor, gets new hardware & styling

Royal Enfield is set to launch their new scrambler, which is likely to be called the Interceptor Bear 650 in its production version. The new motorcycle is expected to make its debut in India later this year at the 2024 Motoverse. The test mule has been spotted in India for the first time, shedding its camouflage and revealing the details of the bike.

The tank of this prototype has been covered but we can make out the bright orange colour of this bike. There are some orange accents on the dual purpose tyres as well. It comes with spoked wheels, two-in-one exhaust setup, upside-down (USD) forks up front, single ribbed seat and a few more styling details to make it look like a modern retro scrambler bike.

Another typical Scrambler element is the circular panel under the seat which is used as number board plate in racing events. The Bear 650 will come with 19-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels.

Recently, the design patent of the motorcycle leaked and even the prototype was spotted overseas revealing the overall design of the Bear 650. The front profile gets a circular headlamp that will get LED lights and is finished in chrome. The handlebar gets a connecting rod which is often found in most of the scrambler bikes and that connecting rod is most likely to get a foam too for a premium appeal

The Interceptor Bear 650 will be powered by Royal Enfield’s well known 648cc parallel-twin engine. This air/oil-cooled engine produces 47 HP and 52.3 Nm of torque in existing models, and it is anticipated that the output will remain consistent with minor adjustments to the gearing and fuel mapping.

What are your thoughts on the styling of the new Royal Enfield scrambler? We recently spotted the Himalayan 650 prototype as well, have a look at it HERE.
