Mahindra Scorpio X is the production version name of the Global Pik Up Concept
Mahindra revealed the Global Pik Up concept last year on 15th August on the occasion of the Independence Day. The Indian UV maker showcased their Scorpio N based pickup truck concept that grabbed a lot of attention.
The production version of the pickup truck will go on sale by 2025. Meanwhile, Mahindra has trademarked the name Scorpio X, which we believe is definitely assigned for this upcoming pickup truck which will be sold in many countries. The initial launch is planned in existing markets, including South Africa, ANZ, Africa MENA & SCA. Subsequently, ASEAN markets will witness the Scorpio X’s introduction in a phase-wise strategy.
The Mahindra Scorpio X will be based on a new generation ladder frame platform which is claimed to be more tough and versatile. It is designed at Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS).
The pickup truck takes styling cues from the Scorpio N. The front profile looks like a modified version of the SUV with more rugged looks. It has a new all-black grille, LED headlights with new DRLs, rugged bumper with winch.
The side profile gets a snorkel, new alloy wheels, lifted up suspension, roof rails, LED light bar and side steps. It has a sizeable loading bay area. The rear profile gets LED tail lights and a rugged bumper design.
Interior is expected to feature a similar design. New features will be added to the pickup truck like Level-2 ADAS, Trailer Sway Mitigation, All-Around Airbag Protection, Drowsy Driver Detection, 5G Connectivity and more.
Engine details have not been announced yet but Mahindra is likely to offer the same diesel and petrol engine range offered with the Scorpio N currently. It will come equipped with 4Xplore four-wheel-drive system.
