Hero MotoCorp has filed the XTEC trademark and it looks like the top 2-wheeler maker is looking to introduce another adventure motorcycle in the market.
Having first launched an affordable small adventure motorcycle in the form of the Impulse, the brand now has the Xpulse 200, which carries forward its ADV baton.
In October, the Xpulse 200 raked in close to 2500 units, which is not a lot, but, considering the segment it occupies is pretty niche, is not bad either.
However, the motorcycle costs near enough Rs. 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), leaving quite some space for an affordable variant.
This is where the Hero XTEC trademark comes into play. The brand might be looking to launch a 160cc adventure motorcycle named XTEC to take the place of the 150cc Impulse.
The motorcycle could make use of the 163cc engine used in the Xtreme 160R but in a different state of tune to suit its purpose, have long-travel suspension, spoke wheels, mostly a single channel ABS, and an upswept exhaust.
While all these are speculations, we expect to get details about the new product soon enough.
