Hero Hurikan 440 to share its mechanicals with Harley-Davison X440
Hero MotoCorp has registered a trademark recently with the name of Hurikan 440. We believe it is their new flagship motorcycle under development that will be based on the Harley-Davidson X440.
The Indian motorcycle maker is speculated to introduce a new range of premium bikes in the near future and the Hero Hurikan 440 might be the first one to be introduced in the higher capacity segment.
While it will share its mechanicals and basic chassis components with the Harley-Davidson X440, the Hero Hurikan 440 is expected to be a completely different bike in terms of styling and riding dynamics. The new Hero flagship is expected to be a naked streetfighter motorcycle.
It will use the same 440cc engine that powers the Harley-Davidson X440 which produces 27.37 PS at 6000 RPM and 38 Nm at 4000 RPM. The Hurikan is expected to get a completely different tuning of the same engine to suit the naked character of the bike. Even the exhaust note is speculated to be very different and sporty.
We have not seen the prototypes of this bike yet. Hero MotoCorp is expected to introduce their new 440cc flagship later next year. It will be manufactured in India with heavy localisation. We hope it is available across their wide range of dealership network in the country.
