According the ET’s Most Exciting Brands Survey of 2015, Honda came in first place in the two-wheeler category followed by Hero and Yamaha.
The 2015 Most Exciting Brands Survey which is based upon the ET Most Trusted Brands Survey, was conducted across seven cities in India – Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Chennai. The respondents were among the youth population of our country with ages ranging between 15-26 years. Each of these respondents were asked to evaluate every brand of the total 189 on a set of fixed attributes on a 10 point scale.
While talking about the Most Exciting Bike Brands, Honda surprisingly has topped the list, coming in at 25th place in the top 100 list. Hero was able to get into second position while being ranked 41 on the overall list. Yamaha took the last step of the podium in the bike manufacturer’s race being 63rd on the list. Yamaha is closely followed by Bajaj motorcycles at 65th position and Vespa, which ranked 72.
Harley-Davidson was ranked 6th in the most exciting motorcycle brands in India, but lies at a disappointing 79th position in the overall table. Next came Suzuki (at 82nd place), KTM (at 88th place) and Royal Enfield (at 93rd place). Kawasaki was ranked 10th in the two-wheeler segment citing serious concerns for the company and didn’t make the top 100 list altogether.
All brands in the study came from different categories that are believed to be considered relevant for our country’s youth such as – Accessories, Apparel, Four Wheeled Automobiles, Two Wheeled Automobiles, Mobile Devices including phones and tablets, Personal Care, Sportswear, Footwear, Cold Beverages, Digital Services, Digital Shopping Products and Services, QSR (Quick Service Restaurants) and Telecom Companies. A total of 189 were shortlisted and divided across six different sections based on demographic parameters at the city level.
