Eider Motors Claims To Have Designed Pulsar 200 NS

Eider Motors claims to be the designer behind the Pulsar 200 NS and sold the design to Bajaj Auto and will commence operations from May in the country.

The Dronzer is Eider’s flagship model and is expected to be priced around Rs. 95,000/-

A little-known company called ‘Eider Motors’ is slowly standing up to gauge our attention as its showrooms have spawned up in Chennai, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Bangalore and the most recent being in Ulhasnagar on the outskirts of Mumbai. While the brand is yet to launch its products in the market, the company has its showrooms up and running displaying its range of two-wheelers that are gauging more reactions by the day. Most recently, our reader Julian Bennet paid a visit to the Eider showroom and had a closer inspection at the bikes put up on display. This is what he had to say about Eider Motors.

The sales person at the Eider Motors dealership in Chennai told Julian that they are the original designers of the Pulsar 200 NS (which has an uncanny resemblance to the Honda CB1000R, just saying!) and Bajaj Auto purchased the rights for the design from their company. Apparently, the same thing is being said to anyone who visits the showroom. Since 1st March, Eider has received over 650 inquiries from walk-ins and phone calls for the bikes but the company has delayed the launch of its two-wheeler range to May this year, in the wake of delayed paperwork.

Talking about the range of two-wheelers to be launched from Eider Motors, the company’s flagship offering is the Dronzer 150cc street-fighter that comes with a trip meter and odometer. The bike gets a monoshock suspension at the rear and smaller USD forks at the front, and will be competing against the Bajaj Pulsar 150, Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ and the likes in the segment. The Dronzer is expected to be priced at around Rs. 95,000/-. The other 150cc offering is the Etania that is the simpler version of the Dronzer and gets hydraulic forks at the front and rear, a simple display unit and more conservative looks.

The Eider Etania is expected to be priced around Rs. 75,000/- and will compete against the Yamaha SZ-R, Bajaj Discover and the likes. Eider also has the Ruddy 150cc cruiser in its lineup that gets dual exhaust as well as a gear shift indicator and is priced around Rs. 80,000/-. The company’s mass market offering will be the Stoic 110cc commuter bike with a digital-analog cluster and DRL with prices expected around Rs. 58,000/-. Lastly, there is also the Leora scooter with a very Vespa-ish styling that will retail at around Rs. 50,000/- (all prices, on-road Chennai).

Overall, Julain stated that all the bikes have decent fit and finish but the plastic quality was downright cheap. Furthermore, the prices could see a marginal increase upon launch as Eider Motors is looking to upgrade to MRF tyres instead of the current Chinese rubber and also Exide batteries across its entire range that will offer better performance on the bikes. With prices on par with established offerings in the segment, would you opt for an Eider product? Let us know in the comments section below.
