The EcoSport is the second vehicle in the company’s lineup to get the new Ford AppLink technology that offers enhanced in-car connectivity between driver and smartphone apps.

After introducing the technology on the Fiesta last year, Ford India has updated the EcoSport compact SUV with ‘Ford AppLink’ Technology that enables customers to conveniently access their favourite smartphone applications through simple voice commands. With the increasingly connected lifestyle that consumers live today, the new AppLink technology ensures the need to stay connected at all time without compromising on convenience, stated the company.

The Ford AppLink is available on the range-topping Titanium variant of the EcoSport and is currently available across dealerships pan India. The AppLink comes with pre-loaded mobile phone applications including ESPN Cricinfo, explore by MapMyIndia and a global secure location sharing app Glympse. This allows customers not only to keep tab on cricket scores but also get information about their nearest attractions and food destinations among others. The voice command activation also ensures that the apps are accessed without causing a distraction while driving.

Having sold over 1,00,000 EcoSports in the country since its launch in 2013, Ford has taken a step towards improving the in-car connectivity experience. The company most recently also introduced the vehicle personalisation centre for the EcoSport that lets customers choose accessories at the time of booking which are then factory-fitted onto the vehicle. Prices for the EcoSport Titanium trim starts at Rs. 8.74 lakhs with the 1.5-litre petrol engine, going up to Rs. 10.23 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-of-the-line diesel unit.
