Erik Buell Racing is a US based sports oriented motorcycle maker that has revealed its new flagship bike. The EBR 1190RX gets an angular and aggressive design language which reflects the serious performance oriented character of the superbike. The headlamps get unique M shaped LED daytime running lights. It has a full faired body structure with some chunky elements such as the fuel tank and the high rising exhaust. The side profile of the superbike reveals a low and sporty seat positioning. The tail light also gets LED treatment.
The performance inclined EBR 1190RX features a 1190cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, V-Twin engine, which produces a maximum power of 185 BHP at 10,600 RPM with a peak torque of 137.8 Nm at 8200 RPM, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The EBR 1190RX proves to be more powerful than the EBR 1190RS, which gets the same engine but produces relatively less power. The EBR 1190RX has a dry weight of 190 kgs with a 55-degree lean angle. The motorcycle gets star shaped 17-inch alloy wheels wearing Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres.
The EBR 1190RX sits on an aluminum frame with a suspension setup of inverted big piston forks at the front and single shock without linkage at the rear. Braking performance comes from a 386 mm single perimeter rotor at the front with 8-piston inside-out calliper and 220 mm disc at the rear with 2-piston Hayes Performance brakes calliper. The EBR 1190RX is available in the US market with three colour options – red, yellow and black. The superbike retails at $18,995 (Rs. 11.63 lakhs). At present, the EBR lineup consists of only two superbikes. We can expect SX and AX versions to be added in the near future.
