Prices of the KTM Duke 125 and the RC 125 have been hiked by Rs. 2248/- and Rs. 1537/- respectively.
KTM India has announced new prices for the Duke 125 and the RC 125 motorcycles. While the RC sees a hike of Rs. 1537/-, the Duke 125 is now dearer by Rs. 2248/- taking the asking price to Rs. 1,48,750/- and Rs. 1,32,500/- respectively (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). It is speculated that the price hike is undertaken to increase the dealer margin on the 125s.
This is the third price increase for Duke 125 which was launched at Rs. 1.18 lakhs. The bike received 2 price hikes earlier – Rs. 6835/- in April and Rs. 5000/- in June.
The KTM Duke 125 and the RC 125 bikes are powered by the same 124cc single-cylinder engine which pumps out 14.5 PS and 12 Nm of peak torque while being paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Braking duties are undertaken by a 300 mm disc up front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. Both motorcycles get a Bosch single-channel ABS and rear-lift mitigation (RLM) as standard. These entry KTM offerings share most of the cycle parts with their bigger siblings like the LCD instrument panel, Trellis frame, fuel tank, seat, handlebar etc.
KTM is now gearing up for the launch of its much-awaited Duke 790 in the Indian market. The middle-weight motorcycle has been repeatedly spied arriving at company dealerships across the country. The motorcycle is expected to be priced between Rs. 8.40-8.50 lakhs, ex-showroom.
