2015 Ducati Diavel Carbon Front

Ducati’s first dealership in the country is coming up in Gurgaon with the launch expected in the following weeks.

The Ducati Diavel Carbon is the first bike to be imported in India

After making a disappointing exit in 2013, Ducati was quick to announce its comeback in the Indian market and it now seems the launch isn’t far either. With the Italian manufacturer’s first dealership under construction in Gurgaon, Ducati has started importing its motorcycles in India, thereby preparing for the impending launch. The high-performance motorcycle maker imported the Diavel Carbon in the country that could be used for display purposes.

Ducati plans to bring in its entire range of motorcycles including the entire Monster range, as well as the very premium Multistrada, Hypermotard and Panigale sports bikes. The manufacturer’s most affordable offering in the country is most likely to be the Monster 795 and the newly launched Scrambler that will also be brought in as CBUs with prices starting at Rs. 7.5 lakhs (ex-showroom). With the first dealership located in Gurgaon and handled by AMP Motors, we expect Ducati to expand its base across all major cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi.

Coming to the first bike imported, the Ducati Diavel Carbon is powered by a 1198cc Testastretta 11-degreee, L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to produce 162 HP of power at 9250 RPM and 130.5 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed transmission. Based on a Trellis frame, the Diavel Carbon boasts of a host of equipment and safety aids including different riding modes, Ride-By-Wire technology, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), ABS as well as carbon fibre in the body panels. When launched, the Diavel Carbon will command a price tag of well over Rs. 20 lakhs (ex-showroom).

A launch date is expected in the following weeks
