Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard teaser claims that the launch going to happen soon, gets 180 section rear tyre
Ducati India is gearing up to launch the Scrambler Urban Motard soon and the company has also put up a teaser revealing the same. Unofficial bookings have also commenced at select dealerships. When launched, it will get added to the existing 4 scrambler variants.
The Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard made its global debut last year along with the bigger 1100 Tribute Pro. It features a graffiti paint job that combines Star Silk White and Ducati GP ’19 Red in energetic graphics.
While the Tribute Pro gets the bigger 1079 cc L-twin Desmodromic distribution engine, the upcoming Urban Motard features the smaller 803 cc mill from the entry-level Scrambler Icon Dark. The Italian maker might bring the same international-spec version here.
The smaller Desmodromic distribution engine produces 73 HP at 8250 RPM and 66.2 Nm at 5750 RPM. It’s mated to a 6-speed transmission via a hydraulically controlled slipper and self-servo wet multi-plate clutch.
The engine sits on a steel trellis frame with Kayaba USDs upfront and pre-load adjust mono-shock at the rear. There’s 17-inch spoke wheel at the front wrapped with 120-section Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyre while the rear gets the same wheel and tyre albeit much broader at 180 section.
The braking duties are carried out by 330 mm disc at the front while the rear gets 245 mm unit. The brakes get cornering-ABS functionality. While the bike is a tad heavier tipping the scales at 196 kg, the seat height of 805 mm seems quite reasonable.
Ducati is offering a host of equipment including steel tank with interchangeable aluminium side panels, LED headlight, tail light, and turn indicators, LCD instrument cluster with gear and fuel level indications, under-seat storage compartment with USB socket, etc.
The highlights unique to the Urban Motard are low variable section aluminum handlebar, custom flat seat, high front mudguard, side number plates, and the custom graphics on tank / side panels. Further, the scrambler will also get a host of accessories.
When launched in India, the upcoming Urban Motard will compete with Triumph Street Scrambler, BMW R nineT Scrambler, Harley Davidson Sportster S, and the likes. It is expected to command a price tag of around Rs. 10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
