Ducati Multistrada V4 RS

Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is the most advanced and sporty Multistrada yet

Ducati Multistrada V4 RS launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 38.40 lakhs (ex-showroom). This model represents the pinnacle of the Multistrada lineup, offering not only the highest power output but also a more performance-oriented package.

Performance and Power

At the heart of the Multistrada V4 RS is the 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, delivering 180 BHP at 12,250 RPM and 118 Nm of torque at 9500 RPM. These figures place it at the top of its class, making it the most powerful adventure motorcycle available. The engine’s power is further enhanced by an Akrapovic exhaust system, which is expected to produce a distinct and aggressive sound.

Weight and Handling

Ducati has implemented several weight-saving measures to improve the Multistrada V4 RS’s performance. The bike features 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminium wheels at both ends, and a titanium subframe that is 2.5 kg lighter than the one found on other Multistrada V4 models. Additionally, the tail section has been redesigned with a technopolymer material, replacing the bulkier pillion grab handle and top box mounting bracket, giving the bike a more streamlined and sporty appearance.

Advanced Electronics Suite

As with other high-end Ducati models, the Multistrada V4 RS comes equipped with a comprehensive electronics package. Riders can choose from four power modes—Full, High, Medium and Low and four ride modes Race, Sport, Touring and Urban. The bike also features traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and a Full Power Mode for maximum performance.

Design and Aesthetics

The Multistrada V4 RS sports a distinctive Iceberg White colour scheme, accented by a red stripe across the tank and radiator cover, along with red details on the front brake calliper and alloy wheel spokes. The bike also features a single-sided swingarm, contributing to its aggressive and sporty look.

Chassis and Suspension

Beneath its striking exterior, the Multistrada V4 RS is built on an aluminium monocoque chassis, supported by electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension both front and rear. Braking is handled by twin 330 mm discs with Brembo Stylema calipers at the front and a 265 mm disc with a Brembo two-piston calliper at the rear.

Competition and Market Position

With bookings now open, the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is set to compete with other high-performance adventure motorcycles, most notably the BMW M 1000 XR. Deliveries of the Multistrada V4 RS are expected to begin soon.
