The Ducati Multistrada V2 is powered by a 937cc twin-cylinder motor good for 113 HP

Ducati has revealed the new Multistrada V2 which is lighter than the Multistrada 950 and has proper sport touring credentials in the “just below litre-class” motorcycle segment.

According to the Italian firm, the main points of focus during the development phases of the bike were engine updates, ergonomics and weight reduction, apart from a series of other updates.

Sporting unmistakable Multistrada family design, the V2, which is available in standard and S versions, comes with new graphics, full LED lights and a 5-inch TFT (base model gets a LCD).

There is a new seat (seat height 790-830 mm) and lowered rider foot pegs, while lighter components (in comparison with the Multistrada 950) include the engine (by 2 kg), wheels (1.7 kg rotating mass), mirrors (700 g) and front brake disc flanges (500 g).

It comes with a good amount of electronics

Overall weight of the bike, that comes in Ducati Red with Black rims and Street Grey with GP Red rims (S model only) colour choices, is 222 kg (wet) for the standard variant and 225 kg (wet) for the S trim.

Nestled in the trellis frame is a 937cc, Testastretta 11-degree twin-cylinder engine making 113 HP at 9000 RPM and 94 Nm at 6750 RPM. The lightened engine has an updated 6-speed gearbox and clutch, while there is also a bi-directional quickshifter on offer.

Even the base model comes with riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control and vehicle hold control. Whereas, the S model gets cornering lights and cruiser control too.

Adjustable suspension, comprising 48 mm diameter USD front fork and rear monoshock, both with 170 mm travel, is offered as standard with the Ducati Multistrada V2.

Even the spoked rims that are available as an accessory are lighter

However, Multistrada V2 S gets an electronic semi-active suspension system with Sachs hardware. The brakes are from Brembo – 320 mm front discs with 4-piston monobloc radial calipers, single 265 mm rear disc with a 2-piston caliper.

The front system features Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial calipers with four 32 mm diameter pistons and two pads, radial pump with adjustable levers and double 320 mm front disc with aluminium flanges. At the rear we can find a single 265 mm diameter disc on which a floating caliper, also Brembo, works.

Riding on 120/70- section tyre on a 19-inch front rim and 170/60-rubber wrapped around a 17-inch rear wheel, the sport tourer has long oil change intervals at 15,000 km and valve clearance intervals of 30,000 km.
