Ducati has launched the Monster 795 in India. This entry level Ducati has been made specially for Asia region and is priced at Rs. 6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Ducati Monster 795 is powered by a 803cc L shaped twin cylinder engine, 2 valve, air cooled Desmodromic engine that produces 64 KW of power @ 8250 RPM and delivers a torque output of 78 Nm @ 6250 RPM. Fuel injection is provided by a Siemens make electronic fuel injection system featuring a 45 mm throttle body with stepper motor. The L shaped engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox with the help of an APTC wet multiplate clutch with hydraulic control.
Under the skin, the bike gets a tubular chrome moly steel trellis chassis with casted aluminium sub-frame having a wheelbase of 1450mm. At the front, the bike gets Marzocchi 43mm upside-down forks type suspension while at the rear it is a Progressive linkage with preload and rebound Sachs adjustable monoshock. 320mm twin discs with 4 piston radial callipers at the front and a single 245 mm disc with 2 piston calliper at the rear does the job of slowing down the bike. The bike has a kerb weight of 167 kgs with a seat height of 770mm from ground. The bike rides on 120/60 ZR 17 tires at the front and 160/60 ZR 17 tires at the back. It has a fuel tank capacity of 15 litres and complies with Euro 3 emission norms. However, the Monster 795 doesn’t feature ABS or Ducati Traction Control (DTC) in any of its variants.
The instrument cluster displays loads of information that includes digital unit displaying Speedometer, rev counter, time, scheduled maintenance warning, oil temperature, trip fuel, lap time, warning light for low oil pressure, fuel level, fuel reserve, neutral, turn signals, overrev, immobilizer and ‘Ready for DDA’ system. The bike will only be available in two colours – Red and Black.
