The supermoto bike that was first unveiled at the EICMA 2018 has now been launched in India.
Incorporating the features of the Hypermotard 1100, the Hypermotard 950 gives out the minimalistic, aggressive and the fun bike feel to the customers. The new Hypermotard 950 sports a new, wider handlebar, narrower side profile and a new Hypermotard 950 seat for improved comfort and better riding dynamics. The price of the Ducati Hypermotard 950 is Rs. 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
The bike uses a slightly revamped frame where the thickness of the steel trellis tubes has been reduced from 3 mm to 2.5 mm. This means that the weight has been humbled from 181 kg to 178 kg. The standard model gets a fully-adjustable Marzocchi USD fork and Sachs monoshock, while the SP rides on fully-adjustable Ohlins units on both the ends.
The bike comes with power modes, DRL, aluminium handlebars, removable passenger footpegs and USB power socket as standard. The bike comes with 3 riding modes – Sport, Touring and Urban, with all modes serving their purpose with smart electronic configuration. The bike comes with a 4.3-inch TFT display with graphics similar to the Panigale V4 and offers navigation and settings adjustment.
It comes with provisions for the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS), which offers smartphone connectivity and manage incoming calls, text messaging, music via switchgears and display relative information on the TFT instrument panel via Bluetooth.
Ducati Hypermotard 950 is powered by a 937cc, twin-cylinder, Ducati Testastretta 11° engine that churns out an astonishing 114 BHP at 9000 RPM and 96 Nm of torque at 7250 RPM. The engine is also 1.5 kgs lighter than the previous version and is equipped with Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO.
The Hypermotard 950 also offers 6-Axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU) which instantly detects the motorcycle roll, yaw and pitch angle in space. With the powerful engine, the bike needs sufficient firepower to stop the bike and that is provided by two monobloc radially-mounted 4-piston Brembo M4.32 callipers up front and a single 245 mm diameter disc with a single Brembo calliper at the rear.
The bike is equipped with 3-spoke Y-shaped aluminium rims fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires, namely 120/70 ZR17 up front and 180/55/55 ZR17 at the rear.
