Ducati has launched the 1260 and 1260S in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs. 17.70 lakhs.
Ducati has launched the brand new Diavel 1260 and Diavel 1260S in India. The bike is more powerful than the outgoing model with a larger 1262cc L-Twin motor producing 159 PS and 129 Nm of torque. The Diavel 1260S gets additional features over the regular 1260 like a fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension, bi-directional quickshifter, Brembo M50 monobloc brake callipers and machined alloys.
Ducati had to tweak the frame of the bike to accommodate the new engine. As a result, the bike gets a revised steering geometry and a new swingarm. The radiator of the bike has been placed upfront unlike the outgoing model which had itβs split radiator set up on the sides. Due to this, the engine has been moved behind by 60 mm. The exhaust too has been moved under the engine and this is will help riders in traffic with regards to heat management.
Coming to the electronics, the bike is very well equipped as expected. It gets an eight-stage wheelie control, Ducati Power Launch system, cornering ABS and eight-stage traction control. In addition to this, it gets a 3.5-inch TFT display.
The 244 kg power cruiser retains the trademark Diavel design language. The distinctly long fuel tank (17-litre capacity) and the massive 240-section rear tyre is here to stay. It gets an all-LED headlamp and two LED strips which swoop upwards as tail lights. The subframe that seems to emerge out of the rider seat is something that really stands out. The wheelbase has been increased by 20 mm. All-in-all, the bike looks as menacing as ever.
The Ducati Diavel 1260 will set you back by Rs. 17.70 lakhs while Diavel 1260S is priced at Rs. 19.25 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). The Diavel locks horns with the Triumph Rocket 3 which also got a fresh update for 2019. It will be interesting to see if the Diavel can outdo the 2500cc monster from Triumph.
